A bus passenger who stole bank cards and cash has been placed under supervision.

Irene Stewart was travelling upon the no38 service from Elgin to Buckie on September 15, 2021, when she took two credit cards, a debit and £30 in cash which didn't belong to her.

Later that same day she then pretended the debit card was hers in order to obtain £21 in cash from the McColls store in St Andrew's Square, Buckie.

Stewart, formerly of West Street, Buckie, pleaded guilty to one charge of theft and another of fraud.

The 46-year-old, who now lives at Lossie Cottages, Elgin, was placed under the supervision of the town's sheriff court for the next two years.
