It's been a very busy few months for Jenna Ogg since the Moray and Banffshire Heroes Awards in 2023.

Jenna, last April, was named Secondary School Teacher of the Year.

Since then, she's moved from Buckie High where she was head of the business studies and computer department.

Jenna is now at Milne's High in Fochabers where she is the principal guidance teacher.

It's a role that sees her helping pupils with their lives inside and outside the classroom.

She says: "It's very rewarding to be able to help young people achieve their ambitions, reach their goals and to go forward into their chosen careers.

"Winning the award last year was both a complete surprise and a lovely feeling.

"It was a great night and everyone there seemed to enjoy it."

The Secondary School Teacher of the Year category celebrates individuals who have made outstanding contributions to education and the lives of young people.

It is being sponsored by Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Scotland who are currently building the new Findrassie development to the north of Elgin.

Kevin Urquhart, the firm's construction director, said: "Secondary teachers put in an incredible amount of effort to support young adults in the Moray and Banffshire region.

"We strongly encourage readers to nominate their local Heroes so we can raise awareness of those who are truly deserving of such recognition."

All shortlisted Heroes will be invited to a night of celebration on Thursday, April 25 at The Banff Springs Hotel.
