It's been a very busy few months for Ashleigh Hepburn Mair since the inaugural Moray and Banffshire Heroes Awards.

And the lead-up to Christmas means the mum-of-two is currently even busier than usual.

Ashleigh, who runs the TooCute childrens wear boutique on Buckie High Street, was named Fundraiser of the Year at the event back in April.

It was a fitting thank-you from the community for her work in setting up the TooCute Baby Bank, which continues to do so much to help young local families through the cost of living crisis.

The baby bank, which operates both online and from the shop, distributes pre-loved items, such as toys and clothes, to those in need.

And now, with just over a fortnight to go, the push is on to make sure sure that no local child goes without this Christmas.

Asheligh said: "Thank you to everyone for all their support throughout our first year. We have been overwhelmed and totally humbled at the kindness shown by everyone.

"We have a great community. It's full of folk who are always happy to help others in need.

"I was delighted to be nominated for the Heroes award and completely over the moon when I won it."

Ashleigh, along with her mum Gillian, opened her shop in Buckie seven years.

She founded the baby bank at the start of 2023 after coming face-to-face with just how much some local families are struggling financially.

The bank's Facebook page, which incidentally now has nearly a thousand followers, puts out regular calls to see if anyone can donate specific items.

Equally, regular photos are posted of things that have been donated, such as cots, prams, cosy coats and toys, along with the message: "just get in touch if you need them".

The Fundraiser of the Year category celebrates individuals who have made outstanding contributions to fundraising outside of their working role.

It is being sponsored by Northern Asbestos Services who are based in Elgin and specialise in asbestos removal and disposal.

All shortlisted Heroes will be invited to a night of celebration on Thursday, April 25 at The Banff Springs Hotel.
