Police have confirmed that a missing Peterhead teenager has been found safe and well.

An appeal was made to the public on Friday to assist officers in efforts to trace Dean Emslie (14).

He had not been seen since about 1.30pm on Thursday, July 15 in the Hope Street area of the town.

However, police have now found the young man.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Dean Emslie (14), who had been reported missing, has been traced safe and well.

"We’d like to thank everyone who shared our appeal."
