A MILNE'S Primary School pupil has been given a tour of the Scottish Parliament after winning an art competition.
Emma Wright was one of 13 winners of a calendar competition, run by Aberdeen-based social enterprise Scarf and supported by Scottish Water.
Scarf, which aims to reduce fuel poverty, has been running the competition for 16 years and this year attracted more than 600 entrants.
School kids were asked to draw about the theme of using water wisely, with the winning entries then used to put together a calendar which will be distributed nationwide.
Moray's MSP Richard Lochhead said: "I was delighted to welcome Emma and her family to the Scottish Parliament and to see her fantastic drawing.
"This competition is a wonderful way to encourage kids to think about climate change and the environment, and what steps we can take to save energy and water.
"Emma’s winning entry was brilliant and it’s a great achievement to have her pictures included in the calendar that will now distributed all over Scotland."
Winners and their parents from schools across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Angus, Dundee, Moray and Perth and Kinross, were invited to Holyrood where Deputy First Minister John Swinney presented awards, before the pupils were given a tour of the building.
Mr Swinnie said: "We are facing a global climate emergency, and if we are to meet our ambitious climate targets then it is more important than ever that we find ways to save energy and cut our carbon footprint.
"There are things that we can all do in our day-to-day lives to achieve this, and these have been captured brilliantly in this calendar by all pupils, providing creative ways for people across the north-east to use water wisely."
