The Garioch Area Committee have this morning approved the Environment and Sustainability Works programme for the year ahead, resulting in funding for works to take place across Garioch.

Over £1 million is being invested across the area in the next year from which over £270,000 will be spent on burial ground maintenance.

Figures also showed that £900,000 is planned for maintenance in parks and open spaces across the area.

War Memorials in Kemnay, Inverurie, Rayne North, Cluny and Echt will receive cleaning and maintenance.

Football pitches in Insch, Inverurie, Kemnay and Westhill will also have maintenance work undertaken.

Play area maintenance will take place across the whole of Garioch, with Old Rayne play park also being resurfaced.

Discussion also took place regarding the design work on the Kemnay to Inverurie and Kintore active travel route and work on the Colpy Junction on the A96.
