The Met Office has issued the yellow weather warning for heavy rain, with chances of flooding and disruption. The warning is in place from 4am until 10am on Thursday September 8.

The weather service have said that outbreaks of heavy rain are possible early on Thursday morning across Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray with around 20-30mm of rainfall likely and chances of some areas seeing up to 40mm of rainfall.

Following recent wet weather, this brings a risk of flooding, possible disruption to transport and that some interruption to power supplies and other services are likely.

The rain is expected to turn more showery later in the morning.

More information can be found on The Met Office website.
