Meldrum Academy holds LiveLounge@Barra event after two years of Covid delays

MELDRUM Academy's music students have held their long awaited 14-band sold-out concert at an Inverurie venue.

Taking place at The Barn at Barra Castle on Wednesday, September 28, LiveLounge@Barra showed off the wealth of musical talent at Meldrum Academy.

The event had a huge leadup, being planned for September 2020 but twice falling through due to Covid restrictions.

Principal teacher of the faculty of performing arts Linda Moggach said the event was a massive success.

She said: "The main focus for this event was to feature the contemporary musicians and they really rose to the occasion.

"The event was a sell out and with 14 bands performing the atmosphere was amazing.

"The musicians rehearsed in their own time performed a full two-hour set which included original compositions.

"Thank you to everyone who made the evening such a success but especially to Sarah, Tracey and all the staff at Barra for their support."
