Having recently received funding from the Peterkins Charitable Foundation in September, for the inaugural Bennachie Ultra Marathon which had been held the previous October, there was an extra boost for Bennachie Centre Trust this weekend.

On Sunday representatives Karen Simpson of the Peterkins Charitable Foundation and Bennachie Ultra Marathon's Rod Wallace met with Jan Lythgoe from the centre to hand over a fabulous donation of £1000 to the Bennachie Centre Trust.

Despite the current restrictions, careful planning meant that this year's marathon was able to take place on October 10 and was again a great success.

Sponsorship of an inaugural ultra run provided a much welcomed financial boost for the Bennachie Visitor Centre Trust.

On the donation Jan Lythgoe of the trust said: “It was my absolute pleasure to welcome Karen Simpson, from the Peterkins Charitable Foundation, and Rod Wallace from the Bennachie Ultra Marathon to the Bennachie Visitor Centre and receive their wonderful donation to the Bennachie Centre Trust.

“The £1000 donation from the Peterkins Charitable Foundation follows their sponsorship of the very successful Bennachie Ultra Marathon."

The centre remains open to the public until the end of October.
