HUNTLY'S Marie Curie Kiltwalkers all crossed the finish line.

One group completed the 26.9 mile route in nine hours while another group did an incredible job to finish the 16 mile walk on just over five hours.

Debbie Morrison who leads the group said: "It was a truly fantastic experience, it had its challenges but we all finished."

The group has raised raised £8838 under the Kiltwalk banner and the Hunter Foundation add a further 50 per cent.

Debbie added: "This means this event will have raised an incredible £13,257 for Marie Curie.

"The money we raised will be linked to our own area which means that end of life, palliative care nursing amounting to 662 hours will be able to be provided."

The group made a final bid to boost their total at the car boot sale on Monday.

The Marie Curie kiltwalkers were joined by young Huntly woman, Ellie Sharp, who was fundraising for Kayleighs Wee Stars and finished in just over five hours.

Ellie raised £450 which will also be topped up by 50 per cent by the Hunter Foundation.
