Charges over coughing incident in Inverurie

A 60-year-old man has been charged in relation to an incident that happened in a car park in the Burn Lane area of Inverurie around 11.10am today.

The 60-year-old allegedly deliberately coughed at another man following an argument.

A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said: "This behaviour can cause a lot of distress and anxiety in the current climate and we will not tolerate this."

Early the same day, officers from community units were out and about in Turriff and Fraserburgh to engage with the public to remind them of the distancing and isolation rules which are in effect.
