Macduff Primary's head teacher Helen James said: "It's not unusual for a school to do a health and wellbeing week, but because of the disruption of the last few years, this was our first in a while.

"So it was a restart really, going from scratch again, but it was really amazing because it reminded us how well the school is supported by the community. Everyone stepped in to get involved, we only had to ask.

"Local companies were involved, we had donations of fruit for healthy snacks, Sustrans gave us the smoothie bike and Coram Life timed their annual visit to coincide with the week.

"Different children enjoyed different things. Rugby was very popular, taekwon-do was very popular and they loved the street dance.

"It was great to finish the week with an assembly where we were joined by Deveronvale Community Football Club's mascot – although I'm not sure it was the calmest assembly!

"Aileen Clark and her class deserve credit for organising everything and managing to get everyone enthused and drawn into the magic of it."
