Organisers of the Macduff Poppy Display for Remembrance have made an appeal to knitters and crocheters.

Since 2018 the knitted poppies have been placed across from Macduff Parish Church at the cross and anchor and at the town's cemetery to honour those in the armed forces who have died serving their country.

The Macduff Cross was extensively renovated last year and it now means that more poppies are needed to cover the extended area.

On their social media page organisers said: "Macduff Poppy Display is appealing for more poppies which can be knitted or crocheted.

"An annual display, Macduff Poppy Display has been a great attraction since it started in 2018.

"However, the display area was revamped last year and many, many more poppies are now required to cover the ground.

"At the moment, Macduff Library is a drop-off point for poppies but there will be other drop-off points across Aberdeenshire."
