Lots to see and do at Turriff's May Day celebration





After a three year hiatus, the annual celebration of May Day returns to Turriff on Monday, May 1.

With over 40 stalls and entertainers, Main Street and High Street are turned over to stall holders from a host of local organisations, groups and businesses.

The day's events also see the raising of the new Aberdeenshire flag at 1.15pm by Rotary Citizen of the year, Pearl Hendy at Coo Corner.

The programme for the day is as follows -

10.30am - Event open to the Public.

10.30am - 11.45 am - Deveron FM.

11.45am - 12.30pm - Turriff Silver Band.

1pm - Turriff & District Pipe Band.

1.15pm - Address by Deputy Lord Lieutenant Steve Mackison and introduction of the Rotary Citizen of the Year, Pearl Hendry, then hand over Flag to Turriff Business Association for the raising of the flag at Coo Corner.

1.45pm - 2.15pm - Silver Band plays

2.15pm - 2.45pm - Community Singers

2.45p.m. onwards - Turriff & District Pipe Band interspersed with Deveron FM till close at 4pm.
