Carrie started photography as a hobby in 2014 when her partner bought her a digital camera.

Horse photography started her enthusiasm and then people started to book her for family sessions.

Carrie's photography hobby has since stepped up and she is now happy to consider any bookings including, most recently, family doorstep photographs during the lockdown.

As lockdown started, Carrie saw other photographers online were doing a similar idea which encouraged her to to do similar.

She said: “The idea came from seeing how other photographers on social media had started doing it during lock down on their streets of residence.

“However as I live in a country house in Cluny, I couldn't travel anywhere during lock down.

“ But ehen the restrictions eased, I then started offering the sessions.

She continued: “At first I was a bit nervous about it as I was uncertain if people would appreciate it.

“Since the start of this pandemic I really wanted to help the community somehow with my photography and frustratingly couldn't for the first while.”

Carrie is delighted her doorstep photography sessions are making people happy in such a difficult time, she added: “I am delighted as it is truly making people happy.

“Feedback on meeting all of these lovely families are that they have had an excuse to dress up again or put on makeup etc which has really cheered them up.

“Its something different to think about for those who have been stuck in.

“Also it creates keepsakes and memories to look back on in such a strange time.

“As it's in my nature to be a people pleaser, I am absolutely over the moon that I am helping people during this time.

“ I am enjoying meeting everyone and they have been so friendly and welcoming.

"Our sessions have been super relaxed compared to Pre-covid 19 sessions. “

Carrie is donating all the funds from her sessions to The Kemnay Farm Shop as they are providing free school meals to local children every day.

She is now doing more of her Doorstep Photography in other local areas, the funds from her shoots are going towards a Covid related charity or school in that area.

Funds from her sessions in Monymusk are going to the local Playgroup to help them with their graduation photos and outfits for the playgroup leavers this year.

Carrie concluded:“For now I am loving doing what I'm doing and have had a great response which has really boosted my confidence in my wee business as at the start of the year, bookings became less and less frequent and I was close to quitting completely.

“Out of all the negative things this world pandemic has caused, I am grateful for the push it has given me to not give up.

“I would also like to say a huge thanks to everyone who has been behind me with my photography all this time.”
