THE organising team behind Speyfest will host a special concert in December to perform “The Moray Suite” – a local composer’s music project celebrating all things Moray.
The series of newly completed compositions is the brainchild of performer and singer Colin Campbell. Over the last decade, Colin, a farmer and pharmacist has been working on a number contemporary songs based around life in Moray.
The Moray Suite features original songs, tunes and stories - performed to the back drop of video footage and images complimenting the music.
The performance opens with the story of a new year beginning in Moray, after a Hogmanay dance at the Inchberry Hall. The composition then follows the progress of the year and changing seasons, covering subjects such as farming, fishing and historical events in the local area, before finishing the year at the Inchberry Hall dance once more.
Following their first concert in 2021 and a well-received set at Speyfest earlier this year, Colin and the team will return to perform the competed Moray Suite at the Fochabers Institute on Saturday December 10.
Tickets for the Moray Suite Performance are available from Christie’s the Chemist, High Street Fochabers or online at: https://the-moray-suite.ticketlight.co.uk/order/tickets/13365088/the-moray-suite-fochabers-public-institute
