Local author Michael J Elliot provides insight at Huntly Probus Club

A LOCAL author provided insight into his writing at a recent meeting of Huntly Probus Club.

Michael J Elliot gave a talk on four books he has written, three in the Wrong Man series and one entitled A Bitter Pill.

Michael, who publishes his own books, was brought up in England and had a few moves due to his father's work.

He worked in a few retail outlets and had his own business for a while. He was on holiday in Portsoy, and visiting Cullen and Portknockie, when he decided to purchase a house in Portknockie.

He always spoke about writing a book and his wife encouraged him. The first one was based in and around Mansfield, England, using local pub and shop names.

One of his books is based in and around Cullen and Portknockie, again using local shop and pub names.

They are proofread and changes are made where necessary, then type set for the printer to print them.

Huntly Probus Club's next meeting is on Thursday, November 2. Donald Boyd of The Huntly Development Trust is giving a talk on what the trust have done in and around Huntly and their plans for the future.

The meeting is in the Huntly Golf Club at 10am for a 10.30am start.
