Ellon Legion has arrived at an arrangement with Ellon Foodbank to act as a collection point for donations from members and guests.

Collection boxes have been placed in the Bar and the Lounge for donations of longlife food and toiletries which will then be collected weekly by volunteers of Ellon Foodbank.

To launch the new arrangement an initial collection was made last weekend, which saw two large bags of contributions being passed on to the foodbank.

It is hoped that as more members become aware of the collection point the volume of donations will increase.

Ellon Legion is very keen to become more involved with the wider Ellon community and this co-operation between two local organisations is a step in this direction as well as supporting the Foodbank in helping others.

Ellon Foodbank's Karen Butchart collects the donation from Ellon Legion's Douglas Watson.
