Progress on the refurbishment of the Sir Arthur Grant Residential and Outdoor Centre is continuing and in an update, Live Life Aberdeenshire has shown the public the current state of works.
The Sir Arthur Grant centre has been used by generations of school and community groups, from Aberdeenshire and further afield, since 1962 when it closed as a school.
The last refurbishment was 30 years ago and work got underway recently to update the site.
The new, safe, off-road parking area has been created and the inside of the rear part of the building has been gutted with some external walls removed.
This allows for the extension of the two dormitories to accommodate 14 in each, as well as much improved shower, toilet and washroom areas.
Staff have been choosing colours for the cubicle doors and sink surrounds with a new colour palette now being taken forward.
The foundations for the extension have been dug showing just how much extra space there is going to be for indoor activities as well as everything visitors can do in the great outdoors surrounding the site.
A spokesperson commented: "If you’ve been looking for a fabulous indoor training space, with access to beautiful green spaces too for exciting team building activities or relaxation, then this is going to be perfect.
"Whilst the Contractors work hard on site, we are also flat out behind the scenes preparing an exciting range of programme packages for all kinds of groups.
