Huntly GP, Barry Watt embarked on a challenge of a lifetime on Monday morning when he left Land's End, bound for John o' Groats on a bike.
Barry (55) is fulfilling a personal goal while raising money for Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).
The narrow and windy lanes between Land's End and Perranwell on day one led to a few wrong turns being taken along the 41 miles.
A shorter run of 33.5 miles on day two took him to Fowey via the Eden Project but from now on he hopes to cover at least 60 miles a day to complete the journey in the three weeks he has planned.
For the early part of the 1200 mile journey, his wife Aline is providing back up transporting his panniers. The couple meet one of their daughters in Bristol tomorrow after which Barry will be on his own and spend nights camping.
He's already met other cyclists doing the same journey.
To mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, he plans to switch the flag on his bike to a Union Jack and he told The Huntly Express that lots of flags and bunting were flying in villages along the route.
Barry had set himself a target to raise £1000 for the SCAA but earlier this week the total stood at £2835.
To donate search the Barry Watt LEJOG 2022 on a bike on Just Giving or cash can be handed in to Huntly Health Centre, in an envelope marked Barry Watt.
