Local Chef, Craig Wilson from Ellon has been keeping the public inspired during lockdown by posting cooking shows, 'Live at Five' on his Facebook every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Using as much locally produced products as possible, Kilted Chef Craig has shown how to make a wide variety of recipes including Coconut & Red Lentil Dhal, Seared Spicy Scallops, Lamb Chops, Masala Rice and Chargrilled steak.
He aims to show people how they can get the most out of ingredients they are likely to have at home, to save anyone going out to the shops and buying more ingredients specifically for his recipes.
The chef said: “In these challenging and uncertain times I wanted to inspire people to get back into the kitchen.
“Whether you’ve never cooked before or looking for ideas of how to turn your cupboard essentials into healthy and delicious meals, we’ve got all bases covered.
“At the moment when we are trying to limit our visits to the supermarket, creativity is key and we’ve had a great response from people getting in touch with their food dilemmas or asking for ideas on what they can do with that can of chickpeas they’ve had lurking in the back of the cupboard.
“We’ve also been doing Friday ‘fake-aways’ so you can still enjoy your favourite curry in the comfort of your own home.
“Hopefully the ideas and new skills people have learned from our shows will encourage them to continue trying new things and be more inventive with their meal plans.”
