HUNDREDS of people from across the north-east of Scotland attended one of Keith's most-loved annual events at the weekend.

Organiser Trisha Davidson's 14th strawberry teas event attracted somewhere in the region of 700 people to Netherton Farm on Saturday and Sunday.

Visitors came from as far afield as Aberdeen to help raise funds for Breast Cancer Now by enjoying a strawberry cake and tea or coffee with family.

In addition, around 175 boxes were sent out for delivery to people who were unable to make the event in person.

Trisha said: "We had a brilliant weekend. It was really busy, like back to pre-Covid.

"There were a lot of new faces this year, which is good, and we had a lot of our regulars. Some folk even came on both days.

"I have to thank the businesses that supported us, to everyone to who donated prizes for raffles and to everyone who came along.

"I can never get over the generosity of folk – especially now, because times are hard. It just amazes me really, and we are thankful for all the support."

The charity weekend was also boosted by a £650 donation from Keith Fire Station, who raised the funds during a charity golf day.

"It was really nice of them to think of us," Trisha added. "We are really chuffed with that."

A final total raised is expected to come at the end of the week, but it's likely to be similar to last year, when £12,000 was raised.

Once all donations are counted and raffle money is in, attention will turn to next year's event – which is due to be a big one.

2024's strawberry teas will be the 15th edition of the event, with Trisha and the team plan to make the landmark by making the weekend bigger and better yet again.
