A KEITH photographer has been named as the best wedding snapper in the north of Scotland.

Morag Martin, of Ceamara Photography, was named as the winner of the Scottish Wedding Photographer North at the Scottish Wedding Awards in Glasgow.

Morag (31) is now a double winner of the award, having won it, alongside the nationwide award, in 2020.

"I'm the only photographer really in this part of Moray so it's just phenomenal to get that far, never mind win the award," she said.

"The news has been very well received. Everyone has been so supportive and lovely. I just want to thank everyone for that support because it's been amazing.

"I've had so many couples message me to say well done and about 40 people stopped me on Mid Street in Keith last week! It's a really supportive town.

"The competition in photography is big and the standard was so high – even to get placed was mindblowingly phenomenal, so I'm just on cloud nine."

Morag, who was also in the final of the Great British Wedding Photographer of the Year, received her award at the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow on Tuesday, February 28.

Due to the high number of entries, Scottish Wedding Photographer of the Year is one of the few categories that is regionalised. Alongside her two wins, Morag has been in the final in 2019 and 2022.

"It was a really good night," she added. "I was sat beside people from Stranraer and Bathgate and it's great to meet new suppliers.

"It's a great networking day and the wedding industry is a tight community – especially after lockdown as everyone became so close because it was such a hard time for us all."

Morag set up Ceamara Photography in October 2012 and has been a big part of hundreds of special days since.

She added: "I've been really lucky in that a lot of my couples have started as customers and ended as friends.

"I'm a big part of their wedding day and I'm often with them for 12 hours. I love capturing people's happiness on their happiest day of all."

A spokesperson for The Scottish Wedding Awards 2023 said: “We are thrilled to have been able to celebrate the very best of the wedding industry in Scotland.

"The winners truly deserve this recognition for their exceptional work, and we hope that their success will inspire others in the industry to strive for excellence.

“Each winner demonstrated exceptional skill, talent, and dedication to their craft, and should be proud of their achievements.

"We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to all the winners and finalists.”
