Keith's Amy Papiransky is lined up to perform at the Fresh Ayr festival, which will take place in Ayr’s Rozelle Park between August 11 and August 13 2023.

Since making the final of the BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year Award in 2018, classically trained musician Amy Papiransky has continued to carve her name in the Scottish music scene.

A music teacher by trade, Amy has been writing and recording her own material for the last eight years, and counts KT Tunstall among her many fans.

The artist is one of around 25 musicians who have signed on for the first ever Fresh Ayr Festival. The 1000-capacity event will also offer a host of family entertainment across the weekend, with art and craft stalls as well as creative, woodland and circus workshops including dream catcher making, wood whittling and juggling.

For keen learners there will be music workshops running on the Saturday and Sunday morning and all workshops are included in the price of the attendees’ ticket.

The festival will also host evening events with ceilidhs taking place on the Friday and Saturday and artisan food and drink options throughout the weekend.

Organisers will also put on event shuttle buses that will run hourly from Ayr town centre to the park, and back again, to ensure everyone’s journey to and from the event is as safe and stress-free as possible. The festival also features free camping, with campers guaranteed an elevated camping experience

Blair Parham, Director of Fresh Ayr Folk Fest, said: “It is a pleasure to have acts from across Scotland and beyond, including some incredible talent from the North East, performing at Fresh Ayr. It’s shaping up to be an unforgettable weekend and we can’t wait to welcome music lovers of all ages to Rozelle Park this summer. We hope it will become a staple event in the calendar of folk fans across the country for years to come.”
