KEITH Grammar School has congratulated two hard-working pupils who have shone particularly brightly over the last year.

Bent Michielsen (16) was awarded four As at National 5 and two As at Higher at the end of S4, and school dux for 2019-20 Sarah Green (16) achieved five As at Higher at the end of S5.

Bent received the school's FOCUS 350 Award for his outstanding attitude, both academically and socially, and for his commitment to the school community through representing KGS in modern languages events, debating and drama.

Liz Bain, acting KGS rector, said: "Bent mentors younger pupils in the school community and, at all times, deals with his peers in a respectful and inclusive manner.

"He has been an outstanding member of the Young Engineers and ROV clubs, again representing the school community."

Bent is Moray Young Citizen of the Year.

Sarah has put in an extraordinary amount of work over the year, showing an excellent attitude to future learning.

Mrs Bain said: "Sarah’s attitude was simply the best we could expect: worked to her very best, always looked for challenges, great teamwork too, never hesitates to help others and always came to class with a positive attitude.

"We are very proud of both outstanding students who have balanced being decent human beings as well as being academically hard-working.

"Both have been rewarded with outstanding SQA results."
