Weston View Care Home's leadership was described as 'weak' in a Care Inspectorate report following a series of inspections in August this year.

The home, operated by Craigard Care Limited, was issued a letter of serious concern after inspectors found one resident's bed, which had been made on a damaged mattress, covered in urine.

Concerns over hygiene were also raised in the report with inspectors noting that breakfast was not being "prepared safely".

Inspectors made four requirements to be met after an inspection in May this year.

However, they found that two of these had not been met during follow up visits.

That included a requirement to improve quality assurance processes and to ensure that support plans were reflective of residents' needs, wishes and choices.

The Care Inspectorate gave the home until October 21 to make necessary improvements.

However, during a follow up inspection in October, inspectors found that these improvements had not been met.

A spokesperson for the Care Inspectorate said: "Requirements made during an inspection were not met when we carried out a follow up inspection.

"The provider has asked for more time to complete these, and therefore we have extended the timescales for improvement, which we will expect to see by March 31, 2023.

"We continue to monitor this care service and will check again on progress in due course."

Craigard Care Limited has been approached for comment.
