Pupils Christopher Forbes and Caitlin Dick, part of the student School Captain Team, welcomed Keiran’s Legacy, members of the Parent Council and contractors FES to thank them for their contribution towards making this installation possible.

Head teacher Mark Jones explained: "Back in February 2020, a Parent Council fundraiser Quiz was held with a target of £2000 to cover the cost of a defibrillator.

"This target was reached thanks to the local community, local councillors, Inverurie businesses, members of the Inverurie Community Council, St. Andrew’s School staff and staff from Inverurie Academy.

"The Parent Council chose to partner with Keiran’s Legacy, a charity set up following the death of Keiran McKandie on March 20, 2016.

"Keiran’s Legacy is working to provide better access to this life-saving equipment to ensure that those suffering an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest have a better chance of survival.

"Inverurie Community Campus is delighted to have partnered with this fantastic cause and the Inverurie Academy Parent Council is so grateful to the fantastic support received from the local community."
