Audrey Brown, ladies secretary at the club, said: "A huge thank you to all who supported us earlier in the year by coming along to our pancake tea to raise funds for a defibrillator, we are delighted to say we now have it fully installed and up and running.

"We also donated £1000 from our Race Day where we held a raffle for Keiran's Legacy who partly funded the defibrillator and the lovely Sandra from Keiran's Legacy came along today and gave a couple of our members training on how to work it, along with some great advice on how important a defibrillator really is."

Defibrillators send an electric pulse or shock to the heart to restore a normal heartbeat and can be lifesaving.

Keiran's Legacy is a local charity which was launched in 2016 in honour of 16-year-old Keiran who tragically passed away after a car crash and there was no nearby lifesaving equipment. They fundraise for defibrillators for communities as well as CPR education and helping schools access bikes – Keiran's passion.

The cause are proud to say their efforts have helped save nine lives already and have donated 220 defibrillators.
