The Scottish Women’s Institute is one of Scotland’s largest women’s organisations and are holding an open day to encourage women from in and around Inverurie to come along and find out more

Chair of the Inverurie Group SWI Alison Muir said: "The open day offers the opportunity to see and try for free, a range of crafts from felting, crochet, patchwork and many more, that might interest people and to find out more about other activities we are involved in.

"There will be some craft suppliers there to help people on their way with their projects and you can see our life-sized knitted Tardis made by our Aberdeen Group Deans Divas.

"Following the day, we hope to arrange the inaugural meeting of a new Inverurie Group the Garioch Girls and anyone interested who cannot attend on the day can find out more via our Facebook page Inverurie Scottish Women’s Institute.

"The SWI is all about social inclusion and support for women and in these difficult times we welcome new members."

The open day will take place on Saturday, September 24 from 10am till 4pm at the Hopeville Social Club, Harlaw Road, Inverurie.
