Councillors at next weeks meeting of the Garioch area committee will be asked to approve plans for further development of housing in Inverurie.

In January Cala Homes North Scotland submitted full plans to Aberdeenshire Council for the second and third phases of its development at Conglass on the western edge of Inverurie on sites OP15 and OP16 as identified in the Local Development plan

Permission is being sought for a major development of 157 homes comprised of a mix of 145 houses of varying size up to five bedrooms of which at least 64 would be affordable, and 12 flats, commercial space, landscaping, open space and associated works on land at Conglass.

The proposal comprises further phases of development, following completion of Phase 1 by Cala in 2022 next to Bennachie View Care Home (OP1 in the LDP).

Phase 2 is located on raised ground to the south of Phase 1 and north of the A96 where 81 detached houses are proposed in a mix of four and five bedroomed homes.

Phase 3 is located to the north of Phase 1, beyond Crawford Road / North Street, and would involve the demolition of agricultural buildings at Conglass Farm and would contain 76 homes.

The majority would be affordable homes provided as are semi-detached and terraced houses, with a total of 64 houses.

The proposed commercial land would contain two buildings with 384sq/m of commercial floorspace across six ground floor units with 12 flats above.
