One of the local Hairdressers who reopened this week was Elan Hair Design in Inverurie whose Lorna Milton said: “We all felt quite excited about reopening.

“Its been good but we are still finding our feet a little bit, but the reopening preparations saved us having a mad panic.

“It took over two weeks to get all our clients contacted and booked in."

On the changes she explained: “We have face masks on all stylists, hand sanitisers at the door entrance and at all work station.

"We sanitise each unit after each client service, there are screens round receptions and between backwashes, single use compostable towels and gowns, two metres between each station and a board outside to say about social distancing.

"All clients information is now kept for 21 days for track and trace and we have also completed a risk assessment.”

Owners John Proud and Kareen Proud said: “We are so excited and happy to be back in the salon, we can not wait to see all of our lovely clients and look forward to welcome new ones too.

“We have spilt our team into two teams to allow us to have more space for every client and to insure a safe and enjoyable experience back in the salon.

“We are now open for the first time seven days a week with five late nights, which is helping us book in clients as quickly as possible.”

“Bookings have been very busy, our phone is still ring none stop.”

On their changes they said: “ We have removed every second seat in the salon to ensure there is the two meter rule between every client and stylist.

“We also have blocked off our two middle basins at the back wash also so there is space between each client.”

Other hairdressers and barbers in Inverurie who have also reopened include Kasa Hair Studio, Starlight, Duncans Gents and Headline Hair Studio.
