Inverurie-based kitchen, bathroom and bedroom retailer, Laings, has been shortlisted for three national awards at the annual kbbreview Retail and Design Awards.
The business, which was named UK Bathroom Retailer and UK Bathroom Showroom of the Year in 2020, will defend its title in both categories and is also a contender for the UK Kitchen Retailer of the Year award.
The shortlist was announced just days before the showroom reopened after lockdown.
Director Darren Walker said:“Being named finalists in the kitchen and bathroom retailer and bathroom showroom categories is a welcome boost for the whole team, as we prepare to reopen following the winter lockdown.”
“We have been busy throughout the lockdown revamping our showroom, so there are lots of new working displays which we are excited for our customers to experience.”
Laings has proved to be an adaptable organisation, with a history stretching back nearly 160 years. The business received an unprecedented number of enquiries, as customers sought to improve their homes following the first lockdown in spring 2020, and it anticipates a similar response following this latest lockdown.
Mr Walker added: “We are busier than ever and have worked hard to navigate the pandemic successfully.
"We are delighted the kbbreview Awards have recognised our commitment to our team and customers throughout this difficult year.”
The kbbreview Retail and Design Awards are the most prestigious national awards within the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom retail sector and will be held in Liverpool on Wednesday, September 15.
Prior to the ceremony, and in true 2021 style, Laings will present the business over Zoom to the kbbreview Awards’ judges, a team of industry experts with decades of experience.
A family firm, established in 1862 as a plumbing merchant, Laings is now the largest independent bathroom, kitchen and bedroom retailer outside London.
It employs more then 80 staff with a combined experience in the industry of over 700 years.
Together with its sister brand, Laings Directline, the company provides services to customers across Scotland.
