Inverness Airport railway station will be officially opened by Transport Minister Jenny Gilruth on Thursday.

The £15 million station will be served by all Aberdeen-Elgin-Inverness trains.

Work began in October 2021 to make it easier for people to get to and from the airport.

The new station has 64 parking spaces, 10 electric charging facilities, four disabled spaces and cycle parking.

In addition, its two platforms have step-free access via a footbridge, as well as a lift.
