Household insurance provider, Admiral Home Insurance, has launched the Museum of Curios using gamification to display more than 30 of the most unique and curious collectibles that their customers have insured over the past eight years.

You can view each item of curios from the comfort of your sofa at a time when visiting museums is restricted.

The gamified museum is composed of four themed rooms, proving like many traditional museums there really is something for everyone to explore in the safety and comfort of their own homes.

Room one is Film And Music, with eight collectibles to study including an iconic signed Freddy Krueger jumper and David Bowie life masks.

Room two focuses on Literature And Home, and included a first edition Harry Potter book which has been signed by JK Rowling and a Winston Churchill letter.

Room three is for Sports And Collectibles including a £5000 40K Warhammer models collection and Olympic torches.

The final room is filled with Art And History, including T-Rex teeth, an elephant bird egg and a postcard from The Titanic.

Whilst all 34 items in Admiral’s museum are likely to hold an incredibly high sentimental value to their owners, and their combined monetary value is £286,276.

The highest value item in the virtual collection is the Olympic Torches from the 1936 Berlin games worth £120,000, followed by a rare stamp collection at £20,245 and gold coins from all over the world valued at £20,000.

Head of household at Admiral Noel Summerfield said: “Admiral’s Museum of Curios is home to some of the most sought after collectibles around the world that are owned by our customers.

"We’re pleased to be able to share them in a fun way at a time when it’s difficult to visit traditional museums and galleries.

"The game allows users to explore the rooms in a safe and risk-free environment from the convenience of their own homes.

“It’s fair to say, we often forget the true value of some of the items we have in our homes, from both a monetary and sentimental value, which is something Brits need to be more aware of.

"Our research last year that proved one in four homes don’t have contents insurance which is incredibly risky given the gap that our most prized possessions would leave in our homes if anything was to happen to them.

“For some, insuring your household contents may be seen as unaffordable or unnecessary but if you were to tally up the value of your possessions, you’ll quickly see that it can add up to a vast amount of money.

"Replacing those things in one go could leave a rather significant dent in your bank account!”
