A family in Insch have come up with novel idea of keeping kids creative and busy while they're not in school and are looking for help from local children to help Connie the Covid snake to grow.
Mum Sarah Bennett saw a similar idea on Facebook and thought it would be a great idea for the Insch community.
She then mentioned the idea to her seven year old daughter Skye who was really excited to try it out.
Sarah Bennet said: “The community really got into the rainbows on the windows and it created such a good community spirit so thought it would be great to try.”
They have left a collection of undecorated stones nearby at the Bennachie Leisure Centre so other children can design their own and add them to the snake.
She added: “The main purpose of the snake was just to create something fun and a bit unusual to get the community involved in and to give the kids something fun to do.
"I think it will create some positive community spirit a bit like the rainbows on the window idea.”
“I've had a few mums say to me their kids are excited to get their stones decorated to add to the snake and it’s something that hopefully will stay put for a while as a wee reminder of the time insch came together as a community.”
They hope that other local children will get involved with laying stones and keep the project going.
