Banffshire residents have more chances to help donate £5000 to a community group through a new scheme.
Co-op’s Winners Share It All allows the public to choose a Local Community Fund cause that could benefit from the funding.
By swiping their card in store they can select a group and be in with a chance to win £500 for themselves.
Member-owners now have more chances to win with Co-op’s Winners Share It All.
Existing and new member-owners will now enter into the prize draw every time they spend multiples of £5 in store or online.
All members have to do is swipe their card and choose their cause to be automatically entered into the monthly prize draw.
Ten Co-op members in May will win £500 worth of prizes for them and £5000 for their selected Local Community Fund group. Non-members can sign up for just £1 via the Co-op app.
Every time member-owners shop they support local communities through Co-op’s Local Community Fund, which has supported 36,000 causes since it began in 2016.
The Winners Share It All initiative sees selected causes receive a share of £500,000 to support projects that benefit Co-op member communities, in addition to the support already distributed through the Local Community Fund.
Rebecca Birkbeck, director of community and membership participation at Co-op, said: “We’re thrilled to be giving our member-owners and customers another chance to take part in Winners Share It All prize draw, as we continue to offer strong support for local communities and meaningful value for our member-owners.
“Our Local Community Fund supports lots of local causes and community groups in Banffshire with much needed financial support.
“An extra £5000 boost can make a huge difference to these incredible grassroot projects, enabling them to provide important services, support and activities for their community.
“It’s great that our members can support this whilst also getting a welcome boost themselves with £500 towards their daily shop.
“The prize draw is open to all existing and new Co-op member-owners – all you have to do is spend a minimum of £5 and have selected your local community cause through the Co-op app.
“To become a member, customers can sign up in-store or online for just £1 and start saving on their daily shop while supporting local groups in their area.”
The Winners Share it All prize draw from Co-op is designed to help boost the retailer’s existing support of thousands of local causes across the UK and give member-owners a chance to win prizes for themselves and their communities.
