The Turra Spooktacular returned this weekend to raise money for local youth organisations.

The Spooktacular event consists of a number of activities, including competitions, a pumpkin scavenger hunt and a spooky trail of decorated homes and businesses.

The main event, this year’s spooky trail consisted of 17 properties decked out with a variety of characters, pumpkins and banners as well as a host of other decorative materials.

Amongst the competitions this year are a costume competition, a carved neep/pumpkin competition and a competition for the best guising joke.

The Turra Spooktacular was organised by Ms Atlantic UK pageant finalist Kirsty Brown to raise funds for Girlguiding, Scouting and Boys’ Brigade groups in the town.

She said: “The Spooktacular offers some excitement for the school holidays.

“Considering so many are taking advantage of being able to travel again after the pandemic, I’m delighted with how this year’s event went.”

Winners and a fundraising total have not yet been released.
