Competitors from Huntly and the surrounding area in the north-east were welcomed to the Gordon Schools on Saturday for the annual showcase event.

Covering flowering plants, vegetables as well as floral art, homebaking and crafts, the event saw good turnout and a wide range of exhibits presented.

Elma Morren who was a long term committee member of the society presented the trophies and commenting the Society's Kathleen Raeburn said : "A successful show was had again this year with good entries in all sections and we were pleased to welcome new exhibitors to participate."

Most points and best exhibit in chrysanthemums – Ian Gerrie, Stuartfield.

Most points in sweet pea section, best 6 vases of sweet peas – W. Copland, Banff.

Best pot plant, begonia, most points cut flowers and best exhibit, best three vases of dahlias, best exhibit in dalhia section, best onion sets - Ian Lumsden, Huntly.

Most points miscellaneous cut flowers, best exhibit of herbaceous flowers – Rosie Wattie, Turriff.

Most points in fruit section – Scotts Hospital, Huntly.

Most points in vegetables, best vegetable exhibit, best box of vegetables, shallots and best exhibit of potatoes – Graeme Clark, Macduff.

Best vegetable exhibit in show – Henry Milne, Whitehills.

Winner of Class 124a vegetables, scholars 16yrs and under, most points and best exhibit in pupils 10 and over, most points baking confined to children under 16 years – Cait Milne, Huntly.

Runner up to most points in floral art section and best exhibit - Leanne Morrison, Largue.

Most points for pupils nine and under, Best Lego model – George Cadger, Huntly.

Most points in home baking – Kathleen Raeburn, Huntly.

Most point floral art and most points in jams & jellies – Wendy Walker, Gartly.

Most points in Industrial Section – Diane Duffton, Huntly.

  • Best exhibit in industrial – Undra Astbury, Gartly.

Best cross stitch picture – Fiona Pert, Huntly.

Most points senior citizens – Eddie Harvey, Keith, Shirley Faloon, Rothiemay.

Most points and best exhibit in woodturning – George Thow, Portgordon.

Most point in woodturning – John McTavish, Huntly.

Most points in plot holders – Richard Symon, Huntly.
