There was a buzz of excitement in the school playing fields on Saturday as Newburgh Gala made it’s highly anticipated return.

Crowds flocked to enjoy a host of entertainment, stalls, fun competitions and delicious food as well as the castle canter running race and a dog show.

Amongst the entertainment were local singers, dancers and musicians as well as the Wrestle Zone team and martial artists Yee’s Hung Ga.

One of this year’s big attractions was footdarts, with the highest scorers (one under 16 and one over 16) at the end of the event winning an Amazon shopping voucher.

There was also the opportunity to win with the new 'buzzy game', as well as with the ever popular baking competition, raffle and silent auction.

Other popular attractions included a bike track, inflatables and balloon scultptures.

Taking to social media afterwards organisers wrote: “It was such a great day, an amazing turnout and brilliant feedback.

“Thanks to everyone who came along and supported the gala!"
