Ellon celebrated Christmas with lots of fun throughout December

With no lockdown restrictions in place for the first time in years, Ellon and surrounding communities were buzzing with Christmas cheer in the run up to the big day.

Ellon Knit And Natter - a social craft group which has supported various community and charity projects since its inception in 2013 - enjoyed a tasty Christmas lunch at the Buchan Hotel early in December to mark the end of another successful year.

It was a busy couple of weeks for Ellon Day Opportunities service users, with the return of their popular Christmas fair and other festive activities including a Christmas jumper day.

There's been Christmas parties galore, with Santa making numerous visits to the north-east throughout December.

Ellon Primary School was feeling blessed with the support for their fundraising Christmas fair.

It wasn't just Ellon overflowing with Christmas spirit, with Tarves one of many places turning into a picturesque Christmas card in the snow.

Staff at Happy Plant garden centre in Mintlaw were delighted to welcome television presenter Nick Knowles into their shop in the run up to Christmas.

Taking to social media, a spokesperson said: "Isn’t it lovely when unexpected visitors pop in?

"It was a pleasure to welcome Nick Knowles of DIY SOS into the store today."

Finally, the ever popular Beer And Carols event returned to The Tolbooth ahead of the carols by candlelight family service which took place in Ellon Parish Church on Christmas eve with many donning their Christmas pyjamas for the occasion.
