Huntly gears up for Remembrance day events this weekend – Sunday, November 13.
Leaving from Huntly and District Ex-Servicemen's Club, at about 9.50am, the parade – featuring youth organisations and military representatives – will travel through the town centre to the war memorial.
Wreaths will be laid and a service will take place, before some will then march to Strathbogie Drumblade church for a service.
Cally Smith will also be laying a blue wreath from Animals Remembered to honour the many animals who were harmed in war. Horses, donkeys and mules all gave their lives in service.
Huntly Community Council chairman Tony Gill said: "It will always be important to remember those who have fallen in conflict, not only in the first and second world wars, but all wars since, and in ongoing conflicts."
Also marking remembrance is Huntly Library with their artistic poppy-themed display. The team have selected books which will help educate youngsters on the need for remembrance.
