A HUNTLY firm's annual fundraising efforts have boosted a local charity to the tune of £2895.
With two coffee and buttery mornings, a quiz night and office-based fundraisers, chartered accountants Johnston Carmichael gathered almost £3000 to hand over to Sands Moray.
Sands Moray supports people who are affected by the death of a baby and aims to improve the care that bereaved parents receive from health care and other professionals.
Johnston Carmichael's charity committee head Lisa Sloan said: "We choose a charity every financial year and aim to keep it as local as possible.
"We typically go for charities that impact the north-east and there are people in the local community that benefit from the work of Sands.
"The coffee mornings – held in Stewart's Hall in October 2022 and April 2023 – were well-attended and really popular, as was the quiz night at Keith Golf Club in March.
"We had our own friends and family come along to the coffee mornings but there were lots of people from the community that attended. It was nice to see some familiar faces."
In addition to the coffee mornings and quiz night, Johnston Carmichael held lucky squares and dress-down days in the office that raised hundreds of pounds.
Lisa Sloan thanked Rachel Simmers, the former charity committee head, for all of her efforts in laying the groundwork for the fundraising events.
The firm's ongoing fundraiser – which began in May – will support the Stewart's Hall. For more information on Sands Moray, visit www.ataloss.org/faqs/sands-moray
