DEVERON Projects is nearing the last weekend of its seven month TV Dinners film club project.
On the weekend of Saturday, May 6 and 7, the arts organisation will be holding two events to mark the end of the project with artists Virginia Hutchison and Sarah Forrest.
TV Dinners, a project exploring communal making methods, has taken place through workshops, screenings, meals and conversations – from camera-less filmmaking workshops all the way to pouring molten aluminium into chip trays and much more.
A monthly film club has been a regular element of the project, with artist made films, food and conversation being shared with participants throughout the Winter.
The celebratory weekend will feature the premier of a community made film, along with a short montage film of footage collected throughout the project.
Both these films will be projected onto a special silver screen made from the melted down aluminium trays, made at new arts foundry Fùirneis Hebrides on the Isle of Lewis.
The footage will be played on a continuous loop from 12-5pm on Saturday and Sunday, with the opportunity to chat to the artists about the project and their work over refreshments.
On the Saturday evening, the final Film Club will take place from 5pm with tea, beers and popcorn on hand.
There’s no need to book to watch the project footage throughout the day, and all are welcome to drop in at any time.
Both events will take place at the Artists’ House, 22 ½ The Square, which is situated at the back of Square Deal along the alley.
Booking is required for the film club, which you can find here.
