Farmers will be washing down their tractors and getting them decorated for a festive themed tractor run in the Huntly area on Christmas Eve.

The Ingram Family from Bogton are the driving force and hope to raise money for Diabetes UK.

Anyone with a tractor is urged to decorate it with lights or like Rudolph and get dressed up themselves to join in the run for a £10 donation per tractor for the charity.

Tractors will gather from 6pm at Huntly Mart and set off at 6.30pm, passing first of all through Huntly via Deveron Road to Duke Street and Bogie Street then through the Battlehill out onto the A96.

They will then turn off onto the A97 towards Banff but only travel as far as the Cruichie junction and drive through Drumblade to Slioch Crossroads where they will cross the A96 then travel as far as Gartly village to join the A97 and return to the start point.

As the tractors pass through Huntly, someone will be walking alongside so that if anyone wants to make a donation in support of Diabetes UK they will be able to do so.

The event is being promoted on Facebook as Xmas Eve Charity Tractor Run where details of how to donate will also be available once confirmed.

James Ingram said: "We hope it's just something a bit different for folk on Christmas Eve and that they will turn out for a look and maybe make a donation to Diabetes UK."
