Dandara is hosting a second Meet the Experts evening for north-east homebuyers at Hazelwood in Aberdeen, following the success of February’s financial health check event.

Taking place on Thursday, June 22 from 4pm to 7pm, the event will offer free independent advice to buyers in light of the recent interest rate changes and an opportunity to enjoy refreshments in the sales office and show home.

Emma Cable from First Mortgage will give practical guidance to buyers on how to get their finances in order prior to making a move, while the sales team will be available to share information on the build programme and the latest incentives on offer.

Appointments can be booked by calling 01224 947396 but are not essential, walk-ins are welcome.

There will also be an opportunity to view the four bedroom show home at the popular development, just three miles from the city centre.

Emma said: “Interest rates have been grabbing the headlines but the most important thing for buyers to understand is what changes to rates actually mean for them – mortgage rates are actually still around 1% lower than they were six months ago and there are some interesting new products on the market including Skipton’s 100% mortgage for first time buyers and lengthier 35 year loans.

“It’s easy to be put off by all the negativity surrounding the mortgage market and to make decisions based on the here and now, and not consider how different things might be by the time buyers actually move into their new home.

“We ask people considering making a move to look at the bigger picture and think about all of their monthly outlays – for example will moving to a new, more energy efficient home reduce fuel bills or will relocating closer to a city centre cut petrol costs, or having an extra bedroom reduce the need to go into the office.”

Claire Bathgate, Head of Sales at Dandara Aberdeen, commented: “We would urge anyone at any stage in their buying journey to come along and have a chat with our mortgage expert, who will be able to give them independent advice on what the latest interest rates mean for them and on what products are currently available.
