Site managers from Barratt Developments Scotland, which includes Barratt and David Wilson Homes, have won a top national award for the quality of the homes they are building.

Five winners were from the Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen areas.

They were Barry Cooper, Osprey Heights, Inverurie; Allan Barclay, Charleston Green Cove, Aberdeen; Scott O'Donnell, Westburn Gardens, Aberdeen city centre; Scott MacNicol, Riverside Quarter, Bucksburn, Aberdeen; and Victoria Chalmers, Hopecroft and Hopecroft View, Bucksburn, Aberdeen.

They received the Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC), known as the “Oscars of the housebuilding industry”, marking them down as among the very best in the country.

Barratt Developments Scotland site managers won 19 Pride in the Job Quality Awards in total, which is more than any other housebuilder and represents the 19th year in a row that site managers from the company have won more of these awards than any other housebuilder in Scotland.

The firm said it underlines the commitment Barratt and David Wilson Homes has to building high quality homes and maintaining the very best standards.

The awards rate site managers against key criteria such as technical expertise, health and safety, consistency, leadership and attention to detail.

The awards celebrate the vital role site managers play in ensuring new homes are delivered on-time, on safe sites and to the highest quality standards.

Every site manager who is registered with the NHBC is automatically entered into the awards, with just 450 winners being selected from more than 11,000 entrants, demonstrating how difficult they are to win.

David Palmer, managing director of Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Scotland, said: “It is great news for our customers and the business that so many of our site managers have won a prestigious Pride in the Job Quality Award.

"The awards showcase what it takes to be a top site manager and demonstrates our long-term commitment to looking after our customers and building high quality homes.

"We are very proud to have won more of these awards than any other housebuilder in Scotland for 19 years in a row now.”

The awards closely follow Barratt Developments being awarded five stars by its customers for satisfaction in the annual Home Builders Federation (HBF) new homes survey.

To be rated five stars means that more than 90 per cent of its customers would recommend one of its homes to a friend, with Barratt being the only major national housebuilder to be rated five stars for 14 years in a row.
