A local fundraising event in Ellon which can trace its roots back to 1959 has celebrated its 64th successful running with the hand over of donations to several local groups.

The Ellon Ladies Ball continues to help the local community and back in November the 64th hosting took place at the New Inn, marking its first in person running since a hiatus during the pandemic years. The event raised a fantastic £1250 in the raffle and this week members of the organising committee met up with recipients who included Alzheimer Scotland for the Ellon Social Group, Auchterellon Under 5s, CHAS, and local Ethan Walker.

A spokesperson for the committee said: “Our thanks go to everyone who donated raffle prizes, everyone who bought raffle tickets, and everyone who is involved in these charities that make a big difference to our local community.”
