High winds lead to closures of north-east schools, roads and cancellation of public transport





Roads, public transport, businesses and schools are all affected this morning as overnight high winds continue to hit the north-east this morning.

Dozens of homes are without power - the latest reports can be found at the SSE site here

Several schools have been closed or see transport changes due to loss of power or blocked roads.

B999 blocked by fallen tree near Whitecairns.

A947 affected between Turriff and Fyvie and also near King Edward by fallen trees.

Tree down on Fraserburgh to Banff road just before New Pitsligo blocking whole road.

Tree blocking the Aberchirder to Banff road

Trees down on the Mintlaw to New Pitsligo road

A96 Keith-Huntly restricted in both directions between Keith and Huntly due to fallen trees on the carriageway🌳
