Heritage hears of the history of Inverurie Brewery

INVERURIE brewery was the topic chosen by guest speaker Colin Miller at Garioch Heritage society's meeting this week in the Garioch Heritage centre, Inverurie.

A retired Access (foot paths) officer on Bennachie, Colin spent many hours on meticulous research into the brewery's history tracing its progress from its initial brief stay off Middlemuir road, before moving to Port Elphinstone.

Water purity is of paramount importance to the brewing of beer and he told of the many problems and subsequent successes locating suitable supplies.

The vote of thanks was given by Sheila Tait.
