The Huntly Hairst Committee are teaming up with Deveron Projects for a special edition of their regular community cookery workshop Food Chain on Monday, August 28.

Billed as a Stovies Masterclass, participants will have the chance to try making three different takes on this classic North East dish: traditional, with a twist, and vegetarian.

The World Stovies Championship has been taking place at Huntly Hairst for the last 15 years, with contestants coming from far and wide to battle it out for the prestigious Championship title.

A Deveron Projects spokesperson said: "Whether you’re brushing up on your stovies skills with a view to the top prize, or looking for some inspiration for an alternative version, this is your chance to get stuck in ahead of the competition."

Food Chain takes place on the last Monday of the month at Square Deal in Huntly, 6-8pm, with a suggested donation of £5 to go towards the cost of ingredients.
